Weekly Trials – Birthday Cake

It’s a giant estrogen cake!

This was originally a commission requested by a friend, so you could say I was sort of ‘paid’ to update. ;) Putting this up as a birthday bonus for both [name redacted] and the readers. Hope you all enjoy!

    It was funny, however.
    Glad you are still around.

  2. Adyson

This is Adyson. I just want to say THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for doing this. It means so, so much that you did this. It was the best birthday present ever! :) I’ve read every one of these comics at least 4 times, and I hope you can find the time to make more. They’ve helped me work through transition by providing me a sense of humour. Thanks sooo much! :D I also don’t mind if my name in in there. (Again, I can’t say thanks enough…)

Do any endocs actually deny hormones due to self-medication? Assuming you practiced it before coming to them, that is. It seems like such a common practice that they’d basically be turning away most transwomen if they did.

    That was great!

Depending on your medical insurance, if you can afford to see an endoc who will prescribe HRT, I know that it’s gotten a LOT cheaper in recent years. My insurance didn’t cover my premarin for the longest time, which meant a couple hundred bucks a month. Then, suddenly, the prescription laws changed and now it’s only $10/month!

To avoid paying huge bills for spiro, I “fortunately” had high blood pressure for a while, so my doctor prescribed spiro for that, which meant it was under insurance. (I have a good doctor! I love him to bits!) I don’t know what it’s like now, though; I had what my son call “a nut job” about eight years ago, which meant no more T to keep under control. *yay!*

Good to see you’re still drawing. :) (This is Grace, we met on TrueSelves, blah blah blah who I am.)

    Hope you’re well! :)

@BraceHare: It depends on what self medication has done to you. Without having the proper bloodwork and tests done which would give you a scrpt, you can’t know for sure what your dosage should be. Self medding and taking improper dosages can mess your liver up pretty bad; if this happens then your doctor will be extremely likely to refuse to give you hormones as they are rough on the liver as is, and your liver could literally shut down and you’d die. If they test your liver levels and they show that you’re fine, but your doctor refuses you hormones, get a new doctor. It does happen, and it’s nothing but the doctor being an ass.

Hey, I sent an email to the transgirldiaries gmail — not sure if you still check that, so I thought I’d follow up here. Did it get through alright?
