haha i love this one, glad to see that this isn’t the last page (yay uniform day didn’t get spoiled). Well anyway, thanks Eve for your comics, and most of all, thanks for putting up with me this past year (i know i’m annoying). Have a good life, and i’ll still be reading your other comic site!

This actually describes a real problem. I actually know people like that. I feel a strong sense of camaraderie with most transgender people, but some are just these hateful, self-important people. It takes a lot of different forms. Usually it’s just something along the lines of “If you don’t pass you are inferior/should give up/should kill yourself/make the rest of us look bad and it is your fault”. It also happens at the fringes between crossdressers and transgender people. It amazes me that the TG* umbrella accounts for around 1% of the population and yet still manages to be fragmented into a dozen, often militant factions…

Very sad to hear that TGD is comign to an end, but alas: all good things, yes?

Interetsing finale so far. Can’t wait to see how it ends… even though I DON’T really want to see it end!

Your dark sense of humor has really entertained, inspired and educated me, and I congratulate you on so much fine work. If you ever start up another project – TG related or otherwise, be sure to let us know. I’ll defintiely come by to check it out.

@BraceHare – As is so often the case, there are the EXTERNAL POLITICS (in the TG case: equality, non-discrimination, anti-hate crime legislation, insurance coverage) and then there are INTERNAL politics. (All the stuff that you’re describing, and that Evelyn has so beautifully (and brutally, at times) depicted throughout TGD.)

I’m not TG, but I AM part of a group that also comprises roughly 1% of the population. And there are some issues that we all agree on, and a lot of people on the outside can get on board with, but (being an insider) I am also privy to a lot of the in-fighting that pits a minority of the group (the sensible, rational side that I’m on) against the (rabid, fire-breathing) majority. (Kidding.) (Sort of.)

But most outsiders would just look at the INTERNAL politics (of either/any group) and think, “Are you kidding me?! How can you all be in-fighting over “petty” / “stupid” stuff like that when there are IMPORTANT THINGS (the external politics) to fight for?!” (Becuase, being outsiders, they’ll just never get it.)

But that’s just the nature of just about any issue, with any group. The external politics makes the group look all happy and harmonious, and most outsiders couldn’t begin to wrap their heads around the internal politics.

    Hopefully that made some sense.

Main point? It’s defintely not unique to the TG community. ;)

Thanks everyone, and hope to see everyone who will follow the other comic there. :)

Bracehare, crossdressers do fall under the transgender umbrella, therefore, are transgender..
